I had the same issues Paul, but after a couple of hours use, your eyes get used to it, like looking through a mist, your brains sorts it all out mate :D
 
I know it's somebodys hard work but I don't like it, I think there's too much going on with the background picture and the semi transparent foreground making it more difficult to read. But then I don't spend a lot of time on here.

Before I get a sharp reply about my comments, they're not there to insult anybody, I've never been a sycophant and I appreciate honest opinion.
 
Mixed feelings about this. I like the fact that it is more modern and looks more like a Car Forum, but, the colours of choice do take a bit of getting used to. Maybe if the foreground was not quite so transparent it would be easier to distinguish text for those of us with slightly less than 6:6 vision. Thanks to Rob for the modernisation of the site though. I for one appreciate the amount of work that you guys put in for us without remuneration.
 
i've darkened up the post background.. Is that better? I dont mind that bit being non transparant.

Tony i've disabled the facebook plugin on the site.. see if it finishes loading now for you. If it does then something is not right on your pc.

A few other bits tidied up and I will put the forum skin option on soon. You can then select the skin you want to use at the bottom of the forum
 
I like it Rob, looks very fresh and like that we have the pic of the Coug in the semi-transparent background. I agree with whoever else mentioned it - the blue writing on black background, doesn't work well - also remember there maybe people who are blue/black colour blind who use the site. All in all - liking it - different and more up to date.
 
The solid background has taken all the strain away from reading, but it could do with it throughout, espicially on the page before with the list of topics on.

Also the breadcrumb trail at the top is hard to read,

And there are some parts where it's more or less white on white, if you look at the car parts for sale forum you will see a few -I think they are deleted topics
 
look ok lads it has bugs.. of the 900 odd people some people wont like it.. im working on the old skins so you can soon change.
 
Your work is appreciated Rob, I at least have an idea of whats involved. So far, my only suggestion would be to alter the contrast in the post number/date bar. Can you change the white text to black to make it stand out from the yellow. :cool:

I appreciate how much work goes into these I've done a good few vbulletins over the last few years,

i must admit it took some getting used to but i like it-------saying that my only complaint is for UKCOUGAR.COM then why do we have a foreign numbered cat pic on show
 
Looks better with the darker background Rob. It was too hard on the eyes yesterday.
