Hi Chaps,

Just bought a silver V6 with a years MOT, 97K on the clock. It has a medium size dent on the rear quarter so the guy let me have it for £150 lol

Anyway the interior bulb blown warning light is on. He told me about it. It's the front parking (side) lights that aren't working. I was thinking fuse but not certain it's front to back or side to side circuit.

So after some digging I find where the internal fuse box is. Behind the glove box. For the life of me I can't release it. From this site's FAQs I see there are supposed to be levers at the top of the glovebox, I can't find them. Any tips on this or the cause of the light failure please?

Also I bought an ELM 327 OBD connector or live data connectivity via a phone App. Had fun trying to find the port but eventually did. A red LED is illuminated but I can't connect to the phone. Apparently this gadget is compatible with the cougar's PWM protocol. Anyone with any thoughts where I'm going wrong?

Thanks awfully guys!

Hello Matt and welcome to the forum.
There is one spring-loaded knob located to the RH corner of the fuse box. You need to pull this downwards to release the catches and the fuse box should fall towards you.

Hi Matt from another(y)

The first time I found the fusebox it fell on my head! It's been much the same story since!
Enjoy your car, I certainly have mine so far.

thats the same model as mine so should work fine with the car.
is it a bluetooth one though ,had loads of trouble getting one to connect to an android tablet...would only connect after multiple attempts and then cut out after a minute.. was told that bluetooth is too slow to handle the data.
in end i sent it back and got a wifi (acts like a router)version which is loads better...
you could have a faulty one..

dont make the mistake of leaving your fuse box unclipped like i did..the wife got in and kicked it causing all sorts of upset to my coogs electrics

Thanks guys for the responses.

I eventually found the fuse box knob to release it. It was on the lhs behind the felt trim so was not visible!
Still couldn't find any blown fuses and according to the spec they are laterally circuit linked not front and aft. May be bulbs so will check tomorrow.

Interesting about wifi vs bluetooth. I am trying to use the bluetooth one but it can't talk to the ecu for some reason. Will change it for a wifif one. Thanks for the tip.

Cheers fellas:beer:

Hi Jack, thanks for the compliment. It was a preposterous bargain. I practically nicked it from hi
I have given up on the BT ELM. May have been a duff one. Picked a wifi one. That article of yours wouldn't work. Locked out for some reason.

Cheers anyway:beer:

Ah, you may have to subscribe to the forum to see that. But you don't need it anyway :)
