New Window Tints

Mine are light smoke on the front and not once in four years have I had an issue.

JJ
Yeah I know what you mean. I had a car with the same on the fronts ( the lightest tint you can get ) for 4 years then one evening I got pulled over into a made up holding area on the side of the road. It was VOSA, they were stopping everyone with window tints. I got made to remove them after the light meter test. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I can see both sides of the argument though.

Certain makes of car seam to get away with these laws, there is an A8 and a passat round here both have limo tint all round i'm sure of it, even thought I saw a car the other day with a tinted black windscreen!

Yeh, there are a few around here to Matt, but they seem to get away with it. You know the day you get yours done, you'll get pulled by the law and made to remove it! lol

Thanks Rik, I'm really pleased with it, as well as the looks, it will help keep the heat down inside the car too.

Didn't corralate that fact. Hmm

LOL!!! Do it Si, I'm sure the missus will be happy that she's not roasting like a pig on a spit inside the car on a hot sunny day. To be perfectly honest, I thought the £100 I paid for all 3 windows was very cheap.

When you getting it done then Si :devilish:

The existing tinted windows are designed to keep the interior cool Si (thats why they have solarguard written on them) try driving in the sun with the window down and the sun on the side of your face, then wind it up, instantly it cures the burning (i'm sounding like i'm talking to a noob here )
Had tints on my old orion, medium level all round (minus windscreen) it was great in the summer as the car was cool inside (unless you had it with the non tinted window facing the sun, then it was like a green house) offered a bit of privacy too (usefull if you made a faux pa at the lights and wanted to hide your shame ;)) security issue is a double edged sword, one its good security because people can't see in and if the window is broken the glass only shatters but is held in place by the film.....however its swings and roundabouts because people think you have something to hide so brake in anyway, are up to no good (especialy the boys in blue....who don't wear blue anymore) and in some cases the film makes it harder for emergency services to get through the glass to help people.
There are proper security films available too that work even better at preventing forced entry (waits inuendo)
