Newbie and potential future owner

I'm obviously missing something here. Specifically, some tremendously, awesomely, sub zero cool thing that you three can see but I can't. Looking at this thread right now, I have post #15 as Steve saying get some piccies up, then post #16 as Chris saying that something seemingly invisible is tremendously cool.

There is a 'moderated' post in there Rich.

Thanks guys, the D is very marmite like, people seem to either love it or hate it.

Here are a few more pics of the Cougar that I snapped when I got it back to Surrey on Wednesday afternoon.

One thing I have noticed, and here is my first question, is that the backlight for the clock/odometer doesn't work. Is this likely to just be a bulb? If so, what is involved in removing the instrument cluster to replace the bulbs?

Thank you

What size bulbs does the dash take and how many are needed? I may as well do the lot while I'm in there.

The main dash illuminating bulbs are push-fit wedge based 3w 501's of which there are 3.
The two LED panels are lit by R286 wedge based bulbs, one for each panel, accessed from the rear.

Definitely interested in it if you are planning to offer it up for sale

I just can't give you a guarantee time wise.

I am hoping to have it all sorted by mid April.

The price will depend very much on the standard of the finished product.

Those that have bought them off me in the past have been happy.

I won't knowingly sell one that is not good enough to improve your car.

No problem, I'm not in a rush - I need to get it up on ramps at some point and check out how badly it's corroded but considering it has a fresh MOT on it, it can't be too far gone so I should a bit of time to play with.

Can't believe I missed the DMC PIC , wow , looks mint , as does the cougar 2! Very nice.
It should be it was a one owner car, only had 15k on the clock when I bought it a few years ago. That's not to say it doesn't have it's issues though, as every owner knows, there is no such thing as a perfect DeLorean, they all have quirks.

Come now ,any child born in 70's and partly raised in the 80s cannot ignore the fact that the delorean will always be a film legend due to the back to the future movies and that alone makes it worth owning one!
Rare beast also , I read up on them a few years back , interesting how they came about... Take care of it , and if you ever want to get rid of its flux capacitor ;) give me a shout! Ha.
