Just wanted to say Hi to everyone.

This is my first time as a Cougar owner, and the first time I have ever joined a forum....!!!!!

I bought a 1999 'T' Silver Frost Cougar 4 days ago - it is the 2.5 V6 Auto version, has 98K mileage, and has no extra trims as far as I can tell.

Although the car was purchased via a dealer I have been told the car was previously owned by a Cougar enthusiast, and the car has UKCougar.com stickers in the back windows.

The guy who owned it before looked after it beautifully - it is a lovely car, absolutely immaculate, and feels great to drive.

I am getting about 27 mpg - dunno if this is good/bad - but this is all small road/round town driving too.

I decided to look at the forum because of the stickers, and then because it looks so useful and friendly I decided to join - I plan to get my subscription too as it sounds like it is useful.

I have picked up the tip about the correct oil, and not letting it get low, and will read my way through the various forums to see what other hints/tips I can pick up.

So no real questions - just wanted to say Hi :)

Cheers
Alison

Hi Alison and welcome to the home of the Cougar. You will get plenty of useful information on this forum and your £18.00 subs will pay for themself over and over.

Hello and welcome to the club Alison. 27mpg sounds about right. must have been mainly used on urban like mine which is showing 26.7 mpg
you will enjoy it here lol

Welcome aboard Alison. Be interesting to see a picture of your car. The previous owner may still be a member on here or we may be able to say who's it was. 27MPG for an Auto isn't bad. My last manual did 14MPG average lol.

Hi Alison , welcome to ukcougar.com, your in the right place for all things cougar related, as well as some crazy banter. You will also be able to find all the fixes you need in our subscriber sections. Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.

Hello and welcome aboard Alison. Sounds like you picked up a good one if it's an (ex) members car, as we all tend to look after our cars very well on this forum (pride and joy!! lol). Come along to some of the meets and get to know some of the crowd personally....we don't bite.

27mpg for mostly urban driving is very good in a auto cougar.

Welcome to the club be interesting to see who's it was before.

Welcome to the club Alison, there are a few members in the west midlands and joining the club is the best decision you made since buying the Big Cat, The knowledge base on here regarding the cougar is second to none and there is always a friendly atmosphere, hope you can make it to a few meets (y)

Hi Ade,

It has taken me an age to get back onto the site, lack of PC mainly but back on now :)

Sounds like I have your old car!!!! T217GRO - the dealer in Bromsgrove is a great guy. I phoned him in a flap cos my old Escort had died and Rob (husband) and I needed something quick. Matt said "Alison, I have a car that is not necessarily economical, but you are gonna so love it....!!!" He was right!!! - The car is a lovely vehicle - have been besotted since I bought it at the end of March-12.

I get approx 26 to 29 mpg, depending on how 'good' I am LOL.

It drives like a much newer car, and at the end of June passed it's MOT with flying colours.....

Would love to hear more about it if you get chance..

I am trying to load a pic into my profile, so hopefully that will go on next.

Hope to hear from you....... and yes - it has gone to a good home, is much loved, and is being well looked after LOL

Cheers

Hey Ali, just a quick bit of help for you. If you are trying to load a pic into your profile, you will need to use Photobucket or similar as you cannot insert pic's straight into here from your pc. Hope that helps. Cheers, Tim (y)
