also they must stay linked, if you leave one bank open and the other closed it may well cause some serious dameage to the engine
Mine didn't like it when the bar came off, it was very sluggish when pulling away. The little plastic grommet had come off so I put a big blob of araldite on the end to stop it popping off, being careful of course not to glue it to the mechanism
