In it's day, the motoring press loved that engine. It's a bit underpowered and thirsty by today's standards but I don't think anyone's built a better sounding V6 since (ok, possibly trumped by the new F-Type engine but I've yet to hear that in the flesh). The Duratec is hard to beat for flexibility throughout it's healthy rev rangr too.

There's nothing wrong with the Zetec, but I find myself utterly incapablr of getting excited or even mildly interested in 4pot engines. They're just so bland and ordinary.
