Hi my names Ken I've just joined the Cougar owners Club .... I have a 2000 2.5 V6 Mine has a Body Kit Fitted
well slightly understated it has a DNA 458 Body mounted to it .... Now I wait to be Shot down in Flames lol
i do understand if I'm not welcome but it's my second Cougar the first was and a DNA bodied car it was the F430 Scuderia ...it was a very Good Replica too
this one has OEM 458 wheels and CCDiscs lights and Badging etc
i need some help Guys the ABS light and Brake light are on permenantly ...the OBD Port will have been mounted
to the lower dash above the Brake Pedal before its Conversion ....I have No Clue what I'm looking for other than its a 16 pin Socket I'm hoping to come across an Owner who knows a bit about the OBD Port who lives in Teesside and can help me locate the port also some logical steps to what would cause the ABS and Brake lights to illuminate
Thanks all Help Appreciated

Moderated post approved, welcome to the club :)

This image is what you're looking for..a trapezoid socket....

Worst case is you need a new ABS module for the car, or it could be a cracked ABS ring on a driveshaft....someone more knowledgeable than I will be along shortly enough

Nice car :)

Welcome to the club (y)

As Steve said, under the steering column, pull the removable panel off and it's underneath, around where your right knee would be when driving.

Hello Ken, I'm a new member too. That is pretty cool looking, I'm not normally into that kind of thing but yours looks very well done.

This might be an urban myth, but I do remember hearing once that Ferrari in particular take a very dim view of replicas like this, to the point of attempting legal action against the owners of them. Anyone else ever heard this, or am I just talking bullsh...? I'm happy to be debunked :)

I'm in Darlington and would be more than happy to have a ride over for a peek at your toy.
Also have a plug in OBD tool which may be helpful.

Nice car indeed. As the other have already said. It is under the dashboard on the drivers side where your right knee would be when driving. Just lay on your back in the footwell with a torch and have a look under there. You will see it easy enough. Good luck.

Ken, welcome. I take it from your OP that the interior/dash has been done as well, is that correct? it's hard to tell, but it looks like it from the pics.

The leads on the port aren't very long, so unless you've had the car re-loomed, it must be somewhere above your right shin. Steve's picture isn't a Cougar (I don't think) so if the underside of your dash is still standard you won't be able to see it like that. It points downward and to the front of the car.

I won't poop all over Ken's thread by debating the merits, but I'll repeat what I've always said about these; not my cup of espresso, they're often bloody awful, but in this case, very nicely done. Especially if that is a mocked-up Ferrari interior I see there.

Urban myth. Ferrari can't stop me putting one of their badges on my Cougar. What they have done is gone after people selling the kits with the badges included. That's a big no-no and quite rightly.

:Edit: Ninjad by Froud while I was doing some research!

I stand corrected! :)

No, you were right - you just had the wrong target of Ferrari's wrath. Though I have no doubt that they hate the fact we're allowed to make replicas like this. (y)

Ken - would you mind posting some interior pics please? I'm intrigued.

Nice job on the build, I'm looking to be doing the 5cudo soon on the same car. I'm pretty huge into building stuff and seems like a great project.

I officially have the wife's permission to swap the Cougar body as long as I keep the car black.
I've a history of getting stopped by the boys in blue when driving red cars.

Was that Fiat the 20v Turbo? Got some poke them!

My only run in with the long arm of the law was in a Green Cougar

I sold it prior to going to Australia last time.
It would have been in storage 12 months and would have cost half as much as what it was worth.
Was fast.

As for the Chrysler.
Not a mark on it. Racing set up. Low miles. Full history.
Bought on a whim and hated it.
Took a 3.0ltr Laguna 2 as part ex against it.

Thanks for the Welcome!
