Ive got a querry my oil warning light doesn't come on all the time when starting could the oil pressure switch be faulty

On the V6 engine the oil pressure switch is located at the front of the block near to the oil filter, to make sure the lamp works on the IP cluster remove the connection at the switch end and touch it down to earth, the cluster lamp for oil pressure should illuminate.
If it does then your issue is the switch or something more.......suggest breakers and look for a 2000 to 2002MY Mondi or flea bay.
