A few of you, with not too subtle hints, have of course sussed this already.

However, I am proud as punch to announce that very soon I will be the new owner of Alan's pride and joy - S97XAV.

I have missed not having a cougar, and thanks to my lovely family, it is coming to me as 'third' car, something for fun, restore/maintain, take pride in, and take to some cougar-related shows :)

It's been in the offing for some time, and conversations between myself and Alan have been seemless.

My interest was sparked during the wholly impressive swap thread that Alan is running, and when I visited on one weekend and made a few brews I made my mind up.

Now I know how much this car means to Alan, and for the record - I HAVE NO INTENTION OF BREAKING THE CAR!!!

My intention is to continue to give it the TLC it richly deserves.

I do intend to keep her largely stock, with a few tweaks. Quality standard Cougars are vitually non existent.

I am proud that Alan has allowed me to purchase the car from him.....now I just need to think of a name....and which subtle mod is coming first.

bout time :D

The only thing that threw me off the scent was the Zetec aspect. But anyway, nice one Scunny. It's taken a lot of people to bring that car to you and I hope she serves you well.

Believe me, I do appreciate how much hard work Alan has put in, and also the hours and hours of graft put in my many on here.

The move isn't/wasn't an easy one for Alan I am sure, despite how ferking lovely his c2 is looking.

I was chuffed to bits the DVLA agreed to put it back on S97XAV, as they don't guarantee it - but that was always part of the appeal.

Well I never, what a shock! :eek: Must go and have a sit down to recover from such a surprise piece of news... :p

Seriously though, Si, chuffed for you mate. It'll do you good to scratch that Cougar itch again and it'll do Al good to see XAV living on, cherished and cared for in the manner he has gotten it accustomed to.

Well, I have already started accumilating a few 'mods' but genuinely, my intention is a largely stock look....i may even keep the fried eggs

Si, you do realise it's missing quite a few bits:

* Two cylinders
* Two driveshafts
* Rear diff
* Propshaft
* Transfer box

:rolleyes:
