Everyone loves stories of people being stupid, so here's one for you.

Last year I put 6x9 speakers in Mako's doors. As I was working, I sat everything in the footwells. When I went to put everything together again, I found that the Cougar badge in the offside door handle was missing. I hunted everywhere and even went a bit mental. Couldn't find it.

Fast-forward a year. Nearside window was getting a bit slow (thanks for pointing it out Dave) and noisy, so I stripped down the door this evening to grease it up.

Guess what was stuck to the magnet on the back of the 6x9.

There needs to be a badge or something so the rest of the world can easily identify us.

On the plus side, Mako's windows are nice and quiet now. ;)

I dropped a bolt while doing the window regulator in 50 shades, inside the door, try as I might I could not find it, to the very last day the door reminded me with a friendly rattle on closing, easily done, lol

When removing the scooby spoiler I dropped a 10mm nut inside the boot hatch.......tried to fish it out with a telescopic magnet wand.....for 30mins and no joy! I guess I will grow to love the rattling nut, so much so, I may name it

As you change gear and accelerate/decelerate, it can clunk around in harmony with your special short-shifter roll-pin mod.

The other day I thought now my car is near enough sorted I will attempt to sort out all the stone chips on the bonnet, so after a bit of preparation I filled about a million of them with paint and left them for a couple of days to harden properly .
So today out i went to sand and polish the bonnet- got out the detailing sander, got out the 1200 and 2500 grit sandpaper , bucket of water ,and finally the buffer and G3 compound, so i thought right got everything and then the wife started mithering about something, i tried to ignore her as i sanded but when she stopped talking and just stood there open mouthed i thought WTF it was then that i realised i hadnt changed the paper on the sander and was rubbing down with 60 grit,
The wife turned round and ran inside chuckling.
I can laugh now but it will need a lot more work and a respray and the wife just sits in her chair not saying anything but shoulders moving up and down whilst she bites her lip.
I took a pic because i was going to do a before and after of the stone chips, this is after 3 sandings with different size grit paper

Still, it's an opportunity to get rid of every single stone chip it's ever picked up...
Very true but i will have to try it myself because the painter saw his a*** when i did the body kit myself

still did less damage than the car wash down the road lol!
The local car wash near me damaged someones car and it turned out they had no insurance, word soon got round now no locals will use it

On one of the ones near where I used to live (Chelmsford) some little scrote tied a bunch of nuts to those gigantic spinning brush things. The first car of the day got destroyed.

It was a BP garage so I assume it was insured, but still...
