outside temp sensor

my temp sensor on dash for outside temp tells me its -23 i changed the sensor near towing eye but still not right should i have disconected batt to reset ecu or should it just work now or maybe it could be something else thanks john

changed them both now but still says - 23 but the spares car i took them off said 9deg when i took them off it also says -23 so if it dont work will check the connections not sure if it should work straight away or not

Have you tried a different HVAC? The LCD can throw wobbly figures up if it's been cold or damp for a while.

Outside temp is displayed in the Speedo LCD, not HVAC. If the HVAC is saying -23 that's a whole different fault.

you know enough for me thanks for help got in car today and its working fine and my ice warning light goes out above 4deg so result thanks a lot i would not have looked for 2 sensors and been in my spares car and that says -23 which confirms my old sensors are faulty thanks again john
