Some of the guys who helped with Dopplegangers conversion from S97 might have noticed the dings on the passenger side rear quarter panel. Imagine two football size dents together with one blending into the other like "CO" and at the left of this CO a crescent shaped high spot. Although it was a subtle dent, it was quite large and in sunlight or at certain angles it was doing my head in, so i started looking for some trustworthy "dent doctors", preferably PDR or Paintless dent removal. I considered having a go myself but decided i would probably make it worse, especially at the high crescent. I found one guy who said he could do it for £30 but would need to repaint the side of the car afterwards
, where's the alarm bells smilie?
. Needless to say i walked away.
A bit more searching the net and i found this guy who is local to me http://www.dentspeed.co.uk/dent-removal-in-mansfield/
I rang and arranged for Tony to pay me a visit. He rolled up today at about 1.00pm, reversed his van down the drive, looked at the dents and immediately said, oh yes, we'll soon have this done. About one hour later and the side of the car is straight again. I stood and watched this guy at work, and it was like watching an artist at work. I stood where i could see the affect of the light reflection on the panel and the only way i can describe what happened is, imagine a dent actually happening in slow motion but in reverse. Worth every penny imo.
It was awkward to get a good photo of the dents but it was actually worse than the photo suggests:
Tony at work, tapping the high points in. Btw, i had removed the seat base and interior rear card from that side for access and to save Tony some time, and myself a few quid
:
.
By the time i went to take the "after" shot, it was raining but.............
