Picture request - Any Cougars on Ford rims?

As the title states really, anybody on here running Ford wheels on their cougars other than the 16" cougar factory rim?

When I had mine I nearly bought a set of Mondeo 16" Zetec 5spoke alloys (the ones like the Escort Cosworth had).

Bobster is rolling on 17" Ford multispoke rims, looks quite nice.... Needs to be lowered though :wink: There are some pics on the site somewhere.

A blurple cat with those rims in gunmetal grey would look the business

Heres a picture of my cougar with ST170 wheels on it. They are 17 inch multispokes, the picture makes me really want to get it lowered, but it doesn't look that bad in real life. Sorry about the size of the pic.

Taken a year ago when the weather was better. I would like to make this picture my signature, is there a how to?

Focus ST170 rims will bolt straight on and they looks pretty sweet too 8)

I bought them about 4 years ago, I use to have them on my focus. Was planning on selling them but when I got the cougar the tyres on the standard rims wear done. So put the ST170 rims on the couagr instead buying 4 new 16" tyres.

They use to be really sort after when I had my focus, dont know if they still are. They are generally dearer than after market rims. I think they cost around ?ú550 from ford for the rims, the centre caps are extra, maybe ?ú20 each if I remember. Then you need to get tyres for them.

I bought the 4 rims with remould tyres and 8 centre cap off of ebay for ?ú300, they were REALLY badly kerbed thats why they were so cheap. Cost me nearly another ?ú250 to get them reburbised. The remould tyres were crap, and dangerous in the wet so I bought 4 conteniental contact sport2 tires for ?ú110 each. So in the end I would of been better off buying them from ford.

I don't think Focus RS wheels will fit. The RS wheels have a different offset to the rest of the focus range.

The RS wheels dont fit a standard focus without spacers. The Focus RS has different hubs to the rest of the focus range. There are similar to the old escort cossy, I think its something to do with those huge brembo brakes.

Second thoughts, I think its the other way around. Focus RS's cant put standard rims on without spares. Ive seen RS wheels on a standard focus. I think some one on the cougar forum has them the RS wheels on the cougar.

The RS wheels will be more expensive and harder to get than the ST17o wheels

Here you go. My Focus RS wheels are a perfect fit and that's with Eibach springs/dampers lowing it by approx 30mm.

Blah blah blah Karl least all my angel eyes work Im going to get them powedercoated gunmetal dont worry :wink: and they are 17" team dynamics but they do look very similar to the multispoke ford alloys. And i would get it lowered but the speed humps are the size of small mountains around here any way less waffle more piccies....

I thought they were Ford rims, well they are very similar anyway... Good to hear someone is taking my advice on board :wink: Gunmetal grey and red calipers is the way to go 8) When you meet someone as stylish as I am you have to take any advice seriously as we don't give it out that often :wink:

I think the RS wheels on Manos's cat look the nuts. I agree with him that they go perfectly. 8) 8) 8) Mmmmm white RS alloys on a blue coog

So it was alittle unclear, where the Focus RS wheels a direct fit to the Cougars hubs or did they need spacers?

RS wheels bolt up without modification You can also fit the old mondeo st24 alloys. Not that you would want to :?
