Was cleaning my car today; my front alloys are a real mess badly needing refrubed again. But had a thought, a friend use to have Kahn rsr alloys on his escort cab, untill he flattened two of them after a take off with a humpback bridge.

Was thinking about getting them fixed, swapping the tyres over from my st170 wheel, then sell the st170 alloys. The kahn's will be alot eaiser to clean, Anyone found any pictures of a cougar with the rsr wheels, or similar? If not anyone handy with photoshop?

Gives you a rough idea. :)

Thanks, I'm liking the idea of having alloys back set in black, and having the front face in silver, like topcats alloys. If the Kahn alloys are to badly damaged and cant be repaired, I think I might get the st170 alloys powercoated with the backs of the spokes done in black. What makes mines look so bad they now, apart from being kurbed, is they are stained with brake dust, if they were powercoated black it wouldn't look so bad.

I think they would look there best powder coated and mirror polish the fronts, you could do it your self if you have the time. ;)

Good idea, its one reason why I painted mine metallic Grey, the brake dust doesn't show up as much.....it will show up big style on chrome mate :(

I'd be really careful with the Kahn's, have them checked out or you will mess up your car big style.

I donÔÇÖt think I would go for chrome wheels, bit to bling bling for me. One of my neighbours has a mk2 escort with diamond cut wheels, they look the mutts nuts! But I've heard they are no use if you have them on a car you use daily. Once the lacquer chips the metal underneath starts to tarnish and rust.

The Kahn wheels, would defo need repairing, from what I remember, they are almost flat between the spokes, and thinking about it now, it would be cheaper just to give to the st170 wheel powered coated, than repairing the kahns.

Really considering getting them set in black with silver face, but gunmetal gray is an option.

You could put those twisters over the wheels. The ones were the car as stopped and the top part keeps spinning as though the car is moving.
They sell a fair few of those over here and they look so naff.

I saw them on a land rover, pulled up at the side of me at a junction and his wheels were still rolling :eek6::confused: seriously weird stuff :sosp::LOL:

I am not sure what to do with my alloys, 5 years has taken its toll on them, they have only been kerbed 3 times in 5 years, one is untouched by kerbs. But they are going scabby in places.
I thought about getting them mirror polished, they look great at first but if you don't laquer them, they are a nightmare to keep clean.
Have been looking at new alloys and considered refurbing these, I do still like them and haven't seen any, apart from Oxigin toxic, that I like, last time I looked, you could only get them in 5 stud fitment.

Here are the two threads Rich.

I am waiting on an email and a phone call from two different sources so keep those fingers crossed.

If one works i'll try and get them to put a hub conversion kit together with a forum discount.

Just waiting for the manufacturing manager to reply to the importers marketing manager because. If I can pull it off it will help loads of people out worldwide and make them a shed load of cash!!!!
