nice - clean - I still have my fried eggs but have clear covers and choice of an orange or silvered bulb to fit when I get fiv eminutes (lame excuse i know)

Yes.
The irony is that crystal/clear repeaters with orange bulbs look more like a fried egg - yellow/orange surrounded by 'white'. But the standard orange repeaters are called that.
Either way, the standard ones are ugly. And for me it's not just the colour as such. They just look cheap.
Crystal, smoked or body-colour can be had for £10 at most.
...True...and I wonder what purpose they serve, does anybody even notice
them when the main indicators are on anyway?...before putting a hole into a
body panel it's as well to have a really good reason...

and spacing of the letters...a fortune if you want a personal one)...

Having checked the law on tax disk positioning, mine is now
almost flat on the left side of the dash, not on the glass, I
think it looks better...but I am a bit strange...

I hate the look of the stoopid thing stuck to the screen, like you say it is all on record anyway!
I'll post a picture of where I have mine, so you can decide if it's for you...the odd thing is I can still
read it because it reflects up onto the screen...
but at least it's no longer a blind spot big enough to hide a biker...
