Pully crank seal.....

I need to find this out too. The one on the Mondeo is leaking a good 'un. At least the underside of the car won't rust!

Silicon sealant works

Genuine question, no sarcasm intended; doesn't that depend on where the leak is?

I ask because I can see it working if the leak is between the block and the seal, but I can't see silicon working for very long between the shaft and the seal.

Or am I missing something?

I wouldn't even contemplate silicon sealant Chris it was an off the cuff comment inline with some of the other poor advice I have seen recently on this forum. For clarification silicon sealant would break down quite quickly if used for this type of application (y)

Ah, okay.

I won't comment on what I think you might've seen; I just thought that either you'd gone insane or I was missing something completely. None of it made sense.

So glad I didn't thanks Paul's first post or react to it. Didn't want to give it away lol.

Example of the poor advice please :)

cause I still don't think enough has changed since JJ owned the club to make me feel its value for money especially when there are free forums with the same info as well as facebook pages.

Honestly, I do respect your position. A determined person probably could find what they needed elsewhere for free. What we offer is a nexus of information, a nice atmosphere to go with it, and access to people with spanners and the will to use them.

Now, as you and I know, the forum isn't 100% necessary to make a friendship work. You can do that through any other social media. But I personally feel that this forum has changed for the better now. We have a financial transparency that didn't exist before. We're not someone's piggy-bank.

I'm not asking you to pay up. You never have to. But I'm telling you that things genuinely have changed here, and the lunatics are running the asylum. So stick to your guns - I get that - but please don't characterize us the way we were before. We're working toward the benefit of the club. Not toward the benefit of an individual.

I partially agree with you Chris and I do miss being very active with the club but the fundermental issues I originally pointed out before the ownership change were addressed enough to stop some members questioning. I will not go through the list of issues I have but as you have touched on one of them I will expand that particular issue, financial transparency as you put it is only transparent once you have paid subscription, my point being that to be truly transparent for all members it should be listed openly!

..and that is how it will stay, Paul. Membership/subscription is your choice. This has been done to death in other areas of the forum as you well know, and in the relevant section.
