Puma 2 Cougar

I wanted a V6 but only had a short space of time to find one. Ended up getting a zetec which came along at a cracking price and to be honest I've been more than pleased with it. It's our less used car we also have a diesel galaxy for the family car so the cougar is just a run about - last year the cougar did 3100 miles. So for me the fuel difference wouldn't be a lot between the two, but the insurance on the zetec is only £290 for me - the last quote I had for the v6 was £440. I got a few bits from the scrap yard which I wanted on the v6 if I'd ever found one - this was a full leather interior for £75 and a spoiler (not fitted the spoiler yet).

Most of the driving I do would never see the benefit of the V6, I do short journeys which are rarely able to get any speed up. I do sometimes wish I'd had the V6 but if I put my sensible head on I'd probably choose the zetec over the V6 every time

In 6 years of Cougar ownership i've not had a problem with the engine, the suspension isn't brilliant on these cars though especialy if you live anywhere with a lot of speed humps

Got to say I'm pretty impressed with the suspension (stock C1 with aging parts) - we have a stupid number of speed bumps and it's perfectly fine with them - what problems have you had?

Same here, i was happy with stock suspension when i first had my cat. Main reasons for the drop (EIBACHS) was purely for the cosmetic appearance. Having said that, they do improve the handling/road holding a hell of a lot better.

Pid, that's a cool body kit !!! nice.

Well, this time next week i'll be in the market, so i'll see what i can find.

Finding the Puma was an act of god last time around, so let's hope i get a return performance!
