I do miss the Cougar but can't justify another, i do an occasional search to see if there is anything unusual around to maybe light a spark somewhere. I think my last one one would take some living up to though.
I know there are a few red ones around but i thought they were last of the run models, think a member here had a lovely dark metallic red one a few years back which i always loved but he wouldn't part with it.

Anyone remember Les's (Nico) red cat with the body kit etc?
His reg was X39... just three away from this one.
I remember seeing at least one other before from the same batch.
So if this is from the same batch, it's a full UK spec C1 with factory red paint (although the rear bumper looks like a USA spec one).
Therefore a nice rare buy for someone. The colour really suits the cat too.

How strange, that does indeed look like a US spec rear bumper. Clever car, even transforms into a Mazda in the photos !
Or, in your case..........................BLACK & Silver!!! lolIf it had been Laser Red, I'd have had that. By far the nicest colour the Cougar ever came in, apart from Black
The reg doesn't work in the Ford TIS, both cougars I've had show straight up so I wonder if it is an import??
possibly....the late Laser Tint Red one and the late met blue C2 ones I've seen don't show either
I think that's just how the light's caught it - look like normal C1 dials to me.
Electric passenger seat - that's probably the dealer's interpretation of what the heated seat button does.
Private plate? As I mentioned before, our late friend Les/Neco had the same colour and spec (before he modded it
). His was red from the factory and the number plate (non-private) was X39EUR.EDIT: Just checked DVLA's website, both X36 and X39 were registered on the same day.
Probly regd on the same day for sales figures manos, not allowed to do that any more

I'm no expert on cougars but my guess is this is an import, maybe from Japan? All the jap imports have square shaped number plates, just like this has on the back. It would also explain the higher than UK spec with both seats heated And powered. Could it have been built in the states then shipped to Japan or somewhere before coming to the UK. Easy to change to UK spec clocks, especially if they are the wrong type for this model year.

OK, wrong tree, says full Ford history, my imported Subaru SVX came with no history as I believe is normal with all Jap imports. OK I'll shut up and go home.
As I keep saying, it's identical to a late club member's cat, reg'ed on the same day with a similar plate and that was full RHD/MPH UK spec (apart from the bumper).
I'm assuming the dealer's description of the powered passenger seat is just a mistake. X pack leather seats are both heated up front.
