Rare colour

There's been several. Seem to have been some Laser red ones up North and Radiant Red ones down south. I once saw 2 Laser red ones in a breakers at Wakefield.

They were accidental allocations. Easier to sell them here than reorganising transport to shift them again.

There's even a very rare 2.0 Auto in Laser Red with the USA 15" blade alloys on it that was converted to RHD and ended up here.

I'm after one if one turns up!

I didn't know there were two red colours available.

What a real shame two ended up in breakers!

That laser red c2 zetec was like a hot potato

From what I've seen, it still is.

Not looked at it myself, but it's stung a couple of people recently who have found that it won't go through an MOT for love nor money.

Not often you'll hear (read) me say (type) this, but I do hope someone puts the poor thing out of its misery. At this stage it's not even funny anymore.

Why?

If it ever came anywhere near me for the right price, i'd snatch it and bung a fresh engine exhaust etc. It is such a rare beast.

My understanding is that the bodywork is a complete mess and it's utterly rotten with lace sills.

Like I say, I've not seen it in person but I've heard enough about it to believe that she's one of those cars that sometimes you have to let go.

It would probably be cheaper to respray a Frosty in red if that's what you're after.

I presume you know where the car is Chris? Any chance we could acquire exact information as to its condition, location and availability? ;)

I do not. I'm responding based on what I've heard about it and the DVLA's status of it. Maybe I shouldn't mate.

No worries. All cars are gonna end up in a knackers yard at some point!

You're a good man.

I didn't mean to say that it needs to be killed, just that the vehicle I'm thinking of is a mess. I hope you know the one I mean?

As you know, I will happily rescue a Coug if it can be - to the point that it gets to go to shows!

Please don't think I was being negative in general.

No not at all. We think alike in that respect. Every car has a point where a line has to be drawn.

From your earlier post I just thought you knew the car a little more than most. If I put my brain in to gear, I could look up the same info. My interest in owning another Cougar is very minimal bar a select few club motors and definitely anything Laser Red :D

I would have taken on the V6 4x4 if I had room to store it in a clean dry space. My personal stumbler is I'd never feel like it was "mine". To me, it'll always be Mark's car.

Ive not fell out with Cougars, just sampled greater things lol.

I get you now mate. Didn't think you were being snarky at all, but you helped me to realise that my post sounded like I knew more about that car than I actually do.

I was going on the fact that it turns up every couple of years like the Flying Dutchman, and we've been round this loop before.
