Hi all. I'm trying to find a genuine place to buy these from but the eBay sellers I see either look really dodgy or American (which I'm assuming could be correct with the model of car)

Not sure what they're called if I'm honest mate. It's for my 2001 cougar in black. The covers that cover the entire light leaving just the circles

Like Paul, I'm not 100% on what you're after. There are covers (branded 'GTS') that make them more "square" but they can't be used long-term unless you fully bond them. And if you do that, you're going to find an MOT guy with no sense of humour.

You'd be better off tinting a pair for shows and keeping a standard set for your daily drive and MOT.

Thanks for the replies guys. I really really like the look of them tinted! How easy is it to do myself? Where do I even start for a tutorial lol.

I think Iv actually purchased a members car or ex member. Has uk cougar stickers on side windows. Ill post a pic of my car.

P.s. Instead of creating a new topic and spamming the forum. Another quick question...what does it mean when my car feels like it shudders back/loses a bit of power at 4/5k revs in 2nd and 3rd gear? Sometimes I feel it bite and hit the power band and it pulls away quicker but then other times it does the opposite?

If it's a V6 it could be your IMRC unit playing up, it's a pretty common issue unfortunately.

Lovely looking car btw

If it's your IMRC you'll probably notice the fault more when your engine is hot; the IMRC sits right above the 'front' exhaust manifold. You can relocate the IMRC away from the heat source by mounting it under the battery tray but if the transistor in the IMRC is shot you'll either need to replace the transistor or the unit itself for a known good one.
You can check to see if it's working initially by standing by the front left wheel and looking at the end of the engine facing you under the throttle body. You should see a horizontal alloy rod about 3 ins long which should move quickly towards the rear of the engine bay when you activate the throttle, with the engine running, to over 3 - 3.5k revs.

Huh. If I hadn't seen the reg, I'd have said that was Steve Wagstaff's Ebony, (it's not). I've looked up your plate and if it was a club car, it wasn't one that was registered with us. Not everyone does.

As for light tinting, the car I posted above is mine - Tiger. I'm used to prep and spraying so it was pretty simple, but if you've never handled a rattle can this will not end well.

Think about what you want to do - plan it out - and if you want to give it a shot, let me know. Whatever you do, practice on a surface you don't care about first.

Um. If I may. Not sure you're correct there:

Thought it looked familiar....

:)

Thanks Mart - I'm not sure what the heck I was looking at.

If our friend has Steve's old car, and can tell you that I know it in person and it was cherry, apart from needing welding on the nearside front, which I believe Steve had done.

I don't know how far he progressed after that though.
