rear strut brace

Well I'm not saying for sure but I like to think I'd give a mazda a good race round a roundabout , and with a rear strut brace I think my cougar would eat it tbh Lol.
A Mazda? Which one, before I get accused of bringing up the 'Mazda'?

Sorry, with regards the bodyshop I thought you were speaking of the rust-proofing, not the strut brace.

For rust proofing, Waxoyl is your friend. After first ensuring that what you have is solid, get loads of the stuff inside and outside the sills. You can get inside them by removing the rear door cards, the outsides are merely a case of getting under the car and brushing or spraying it on.

Short term yes, get's a terrible write-up for long-term use, check out the ongoing tests in *I think* Practical Classics, it seemed to promote rot after a few years.

There are a lot of really top-b*llock products out there that can be applied professionally if you want the true rust proofing, Waxoyl seems to be a bit old-fashioned and next to useless after a year or two.

This is a great mod for your car. IMO it is by far the best mod I have ever done to my car and I have done just about everything that can be done to a cougar. It now feels planted in the corners compared to a car without one and a lot safer as well.

Fitting is a matter of drilling 6 9mm holes once you have gained acces.
Iirc I posted a fitting guide in the catfabs section.
All bolts are included :)

Anyone with half an ounce of DIY nous can fit one of these in their lunch break, nothing required other than a drill and something to do the nuts up with :)

Small hands beneficial, but not essential!

I'll be ordering soon mate cheers@dogsbody(21st). , and Steve what happened to ya car mate!? And what's this about a beast your driving about??
A new project?

There's a really simple mod that will have you beating mx5's round a roundabout. Sell your car and buy a good rwd sports car :)
