Built in Oct 2000, but the yellow sticker advises a 1.3mm plug gap. Interesting - I thought they had revised it down to 1.1mm by then? I might have my chronolgy mixed up though.
FWIW, Tiger won't run properly with genuine Motorcraft plugs at 1.3mm. Totally undriveable.

So going by that yellow sticker, it could be an Aussie stray cat. And it was a very early build C2 (mine was built in Dec 2000).
Chris, I think the revised plug gap advice from Ford came long after the last Cougar rolled off the production line.
I'll type the VIN into Microcat later and see if it reveals anything.

Yes, at the moment I reckon it is an Aussie stray cat.
It looks like there was a plate on the d/s strut as there are two holes in exactly the right position (don't know why this may have been removed).
I will hopefullty be able to contact the previous owner soon and get for info
The paint code HL comes out as Laser Red when I checked one Ford site.

Unfortunately, my (2008 Russian) copy of Microcat reveals nothing, it comes up as 'unknown'.
It may not have a full database though, because my old C1 was 'unknown' too.

Wil, the rounded US one would have covered those holes in the driver's side strut top had it been there.
