I was going to look at this last Saturday but decided not to. At the time it was advertised at £2000 but that evening had gone down to £1850 or so. Now it's £2500! Intriguing!

If anyone's interested, its MOT was a couple of weeks ago and it passed with advisories on corrosion on both front brake pipes and minor windscreen damage.

I thought it was expensive at £2000 though!

It's been on ebay & autotrader for as long as I can remember (probably about 2 months - since I started looking to buy one)! It's always sounded like it might be nice, but it's 1.5hrs away from me and at this time of year it's been difficult to get there, especially as the wife works Sundays and various evenings! Still seemed expensive though at £2k, although at £1850 it might've been worth making more of an effort.

Interesting that someone from the club apparently has prompted him to raise the price by 30%+ though by telling him about this Silverstone thing.

I can't see that comment in the text.

If that car was at the launch, then it must have been a long way behind mine :)

That should be what all of our cougars are worth, but unfortunately they just don't fetch that sort of money at the moment. They'd be lucky to get £1500 and that's only down to the low mileage

well i bought mine with 30k genuine miles for £2,995 , but went 400 miles in total to get it. Well actually £3,030 inc petrol in a focus rs asbo.

No Tim, Neils forum is Ford owners club iirc.

Ahh, right, me got it wrong. Who the heck would tell him his coug was worth that much?? especially from our club?? We all know Coug's don't fetch that type of wonga...although we wish they did lol.

Well at the moment I don't wish they'd fetch that much, I'm still trying to get my sticky paws on a decent one at a decent price! (and within a decent travelling time of home - which seems to be the big issue for me)

well here is the reply:

Hi Mr Forrest

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the cougar the information
came from a member of the cougar owners club and i,m waiting for
him to get back to me

Kind Regards
Steve Futcher

That would suggest that all the XAV's were used for the launch. How many are there????
Plus the launch was at the 1998 Silverstone F1 GP which was June/July (R reg) and all the XAV's are S reg.
So were all the XAV Cougars sitting around in the UK for approx 4 or 5 months?
