Where do you guys buy screwdrivers for car use from? I can't afford an expensive set, but is there something for less than say £20 that you would recommend? I imagine Halfords or Machine Mart, but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.:)

If u dont want to spend a lot but need a good range of drivers i find you cannot beat a good ratchet type with a box set of bits..
The stanley fatmax ones are in your price range and come with torx ,pozy and flat head bits..if you want cheaper then b&q's own range are cheap and last well but you'll have trouble getting all the sizes you need.

The Halfords Professional ones take some beating to be honest, had a set knocking about for years.

If you just want one or two drivers, Wera (of which I usually buy) or CK, but you won't get many for the money.

Thank you!
I thought this one looked ok, lifetime warranty apparently

Fairly comprehensive kit, but look at what's there, do you really need all that and will you really have used for what makes up a large part of it?
As suggested, ebay is a good place to look, and Halfords do sell some quality tools for not a lot of money. You can't go far wrong with Draper, also suggested earlier. Take your time Matt, don't go buying stuff you don't need just because it's all in a fancy box.

Thanks mate. I just didnt want to buy something that only had half a dozen items and then feel i was no better off. Mind you at present i have precisely nothing so anything a bonus :)

Very comprehensive set here from Stanley for 15 quid....mine are Stanley and they've lasted years:

No-name set from Machine Mart looks ok but no idea who makes it, nice chunky handles though and a bit at the end to wang a spanner on....

Halford Advanced stuff is very good...

Thank you Steve. That Stanley set is very comprehensive - what always confuses me is what sizes I will need!
Off to the scrapyard in a bit so will go screwfix and toolstation as they are both local to it.

I swear by Halfords pro range. Wait till they're on sale promotion and buy a socket set with all the driver attachments for £100. Well worth it in the long run.

Saw a pack of Torx head long Allen key shaped tools in TK Max Hereford yesterday, double ended and about 4" long, should have got them but picked up a a Kamasa 33pc precision tool kit for £7.99 & a Kamasa 39 piece Socket set for £9.99, so happy with those.
