That seems the way to go then. One more question (sorry mate!) - with the brushed stainless rear, would a local metal shop be able to polish this up to a mirror finish, or does it not work like that?

Yes it could be polished up to mirror but it would take some work..you could do it yourself if you had the time and patience ;-)
I've ordered another length of SS tube to make another brace if anybody is interested. I'll list it for sale when i get it made up hopefully this weekend.
