So long and goodbye- Ive got a new ford

Ive had a couple of cars in the past that have dissolved :D as I like to put it, so its not a real problem.
The black one is still available, its a special edition BLACK one with leather and the 6 disc player so may check it out, bit high mileage at 118k though, maybe an option if this lack of interest for my cat carries on

For underbody seal, I can from experience definitely recommend Bilt-Hamber.

It's more expensive - about £45 to do a whole car - but it's easy to work, dries flexible so it doesn't crack, and they do a spray version with a 360-degree lance so you can inject it into voids and sills. Mako and Jinxy are both preserved with it, particularly the subframes, where the spray was a godsend.

You're not too far away from us, so if you ever want a hand just give me a shout. I think Steve Morris is up for it too once the weather is a bit more friendly.

There are still some good ones out there, but like you say there are alot of tatty ones aswell. I would like leather in mine and may well hunt out a leather interior later in the year.

If everything else was fine, I reckon I could look past rear wing rot, knowing that I could stop and sort it. Not sure why it's such an Achilles Heel for them though? I thought that sort of rubbish went away with 1980s Escorts made from (low-grade at the time) Polish steel. It'd be a real commitment in time and effort, but there's some real bargains to be had.

As for the interior, I'm sure you'll manage to get a fair and sensible deal like I did for my Coug. And then you get to sit on lovely leather that you didn't pay list price for...
