Stray cat found good home

So I spotted this Cougar wondering about on eBay. It was an auction sale with hardly any interest, so now I have another one.
Its a V6 manual, oddly it has the cloth seats instead of leather, There's potentially a C2 interior becoming available via a mate so I might swap the seats at the very least. The fuel gauge and trip computer do not work at all, presumably the float in the fuel tank is stuck but I'm inclined to leave that alone until the time comes to replace it. The car has 92k miles, runs and drives beautifully. Alas it's had welding but looks solid underneath, no suspicious knocks or rattles. It's an S reg registered Jan '99 so a fairly early car?
All in all I decent cougar, much better than I thought it would be

I was a Rover guy at the time these things were being sold - and I certainly never bought a new one - so I'm not 100% on what the options were. But I believe you could buy a C1 V6 X-pack with foglights and cloth?

Or the sender has a wiring fault.

Alas it's had welding but looks solid underneath.

That's a 28 year-old Ford! It was never expected to make it until now. The fact that someone welded it means that someone cared. Its legacy is now yours and its survival depends on you.

It's got foglights, no cd changer though and the cd player quit working, so I put a spare cassette player in it (which only plays the radio) and bought an FM Bluetooth transmitter for £5ish from the range which works nicely
I think I need to get heater flap motor? The blower works fine but only changes temperature when it feels like it, it mostly likes to blow boiling hot air at me which is handy for the time of year
I think you're right regarding someone having cared previously for it, it runs lovely and looks to have only done a couple thousand miles a year for the last five year or so. I'll keep it going for as long as I can. I've really taken to this one but obviously keeping three maintained is going to be quite a challenge, if I find myself struggling I'll try and re-home one through here. I couldn't advertise them and I wouldn't be after much money for them anyway, they are so rare now I think finding good owners for them is more important than the £££

That's a standard V6 without the X Pack; which at the time included the heated leather seats and the boot mounted CD player.

Sally's got the loom (and a working CD changer) that will never be used again.

At some point in the next week I'll pull it out and you can have it for postage.
