Won't do those monitors any good filling them with dust. I'd remove them first.

they are bonded in

Oh boy  that's a bummer!

Should mask them up anyway Pete.. :)

I would be inclined to cut them out and then fabricate new brackets to refit them after (y)

Rob is correct, they are bonded in. I will sort them out when I start again on it. I am unsure if they even work and I will not find this out until the cables are sorted out from Rob when he gets time.
If they work they work......... if not then I am not really that bothered either way. It will be a bonus if they do. There is quite alot of work involved in getting this prepped. I must have spend at least 3 hours today on it and I only scratched the surface really. The hard work will be filling all those slats in and getting it all smooth.
If anyone has any tips then I am all ears.
Cheers.

Lay tape across the back of the slats, then fill with fibreglass in layers, then sand and smooth and fill with some plastic filler as it's less likely to crack with the bass as it's flexible, then prime and paint.. job done..

Dont fill the slats, build a light box in behind using led's and let the light come through (y)

Cheers guys for the input. I will need to fill the 2 sets of slats on the sides due to things being mounted there, but the back set I have no plans for at all so I could do something with LED's I guess but the slats would need work doing to them as they are not very smooth or even. Might be time to think of something for them if I do not fill them in.

As you all know, i'm not into all this fangled dangled "ICE" :) but fwiw, i'm looking at that moulding and those slats and all i see is a sequential light show. Buy or make bezels to surround the slats Peter, and search the net for some led stuff unless you can find a sequencing box to suit your own led's . No doubt, this will be a very "Orange install" :)

Well as I have said, I have got other things going where the 2 side sets are, so they will be filled in, but I now have a cunning plan for the middle one.
I think I might suprise you all with the colour it is going to be (y)

Uhhhh how!?!? What?!? Where!!!??? Where ever did you get that gorgeous boot piece? Custom made?

Well it was out of another Cougar called Thundercat. That car is now in scrap yard heaven but many parts of it live on in other Cougars here in the UK.
Yes it was custom made for the owner of that car. It is fiberglass. I do not know any information as to who made it, but I can tell you it is a top quality job.
I am now in the middle of sorting it out to go into my car. It is going to take quite alot of work to get it right, but I will get there in the end for sure.

That is going to be one of the best boot builds........I can feel it in my water. You have a fantastic base there, and although boot builds aren't my scene (due to rugby and the associated kit that goes with it) I am slightly envious.

I hope you keep this thread updated and looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at some this year (so get ya finger.......)

Cheers for that. Well I have started it anyhow and I do have a week off work the 1st week of March so I should be able to nail it in that week. I just need to save some money up for the subs required to work correctly in the build. JJ is helping me out in that department so I am in very safe hands.

Got my power cable sorted now for the install, it is Autoleads 50mm (0AWG) Precision Series Cable. It is 4 meters in length so should be long enough. I also have all the ground leads sorted as well.
