After struggling with various hose configurations, I just did this yesterday and Hey Presto! instant result. The Silver Cat has been moosing horrifically all winter, in fact it happened at any temperature under 15C when the engine was cold, only disappearing on application of 'some' throttle, but reappearing again if the pedal was lifted until the engine was up to full temp.
It also accounts for the fact that while my old Cougar was Moose-Free and the new one wasn't, the problem was not cured by a complete air intake and hose transplant.
Literally five minutes to remove and reinstall (with skinned knuckles as advertised) and an hour to soak. Fluid came out only slightly discoloured, but the mechanism was obviously sticking enough to cause a problem.
I've performed two fully cold starts at an ambient temp of 4C and she purrs very nicely indeed thanks very much.
