thought please

I keep looking at my first respray on the old cougar thinking I may have it again but with a hint more colour as in the sun it almost looked like a frosty with a slight tint so a bit more colour to stop that would look good.

My old one

Thats it you don't want it looking like a Frosty...common as muck they are ;) thats why I think if you go with a white base coat with say an electric blue flip or something like that (I'm not exactly sure what colours you can flip into white to be honnest) if you have ever looked at the silver frost paint close up its not completly silver is it, there is some other colours in there. Can you put a Green flip in the paint...now that would be interesting

JJ - can I ask you a question - when you respray your Coug do you do a full bare metal respray including all the shut lines (including removal of doors, bonnet etc) or is it just an external respray with old colour inside the slam panels etc. ?

On the last car and this one if I go ahead with it, it includes removing doors/bonnet/boot to prep the car including all shut lines as well as the usual lights door cards grilles etc.

Then once it is all prepped the door jams boot shut etc are painted then the doors are re fitted alongwith bonnet and boot then the car gets sprayed as it is said (and I have seen it) that if the doors bonnet boot bumpers etc are done off the car they can appear a different shade as they may be done in a different direction to the main panels. The only bits not done are the innerwing panels where the engine would have to be removed to spray, the boot floor does not get done or the interior panel work like roof and floor obviously but the inside of the doors etc get done to a point wherethe door cards will cover anything left of the original colour.

Cool, thanks for that. I was just wondering, as I need to have the dent taken out my rear wing and back bumper really could do with a respray - so was thinking about just having an external respray done (same colour) as when they do the wing it will need painting anyway.

I really need to finalise what colour(s) and layout I'm having, the bodyshop deadline is looming!

Do you think I've got a printing press?? On a very tight budget and at the moment I'm looking at either having the outside totally finished OR the inside. Unless by some miracle I can sell some stuff off or find a Leprechaun at the end of a Rainbow and mug him! And I don't even know yet if I'll even have the car for Modded Nats or if I'm gonna be rolling up in the 4 pot!
