Sat a notch under 1000 rpm on dial... I'm suspecting this is slightly low and is the cause of my stalling coming too a stop , unless I double clutch or give a rev as coming to a stop...
Would you suggest a tune up?

Hope so Steve , doing my head in , must sort it asap then , also my fuel sensor seems to just jump from half way between half full to half empty in a flash of a eye When it reaches a certain point, is this normal , man I only put 30 quid in yesterday and looks to have used half with very little driving!
If this is normal , the cougar is one thirsty beast!
Doesn't help when you live in a town with constant stop and starting traffic and too many traffic lights , f£#%#&# pi##£es me well off.

Wow up there with super car consumption!! Ha ha , I fuc%£&£ hate this town I live in for traffic , it is a joke , add old ppl and shed loads of traffic lights and heavy rush hour traffic I probably do less mpg than 18!
Better not mention how bad consumption is to my missus , she already peed I bought a four seat car and spent hundreds on when getting it , I don't care though I love my motor! I may call her Christine lol.

So my tick over is about right then , oh well get the vss put on in a few weeks , hopefully be sweet again , like it was before it went on me...
Turns the traction control light on randomly also, it being broke , so that will be another problem sorted..
Just hope after I get vss sorted nothing else goes on it, cos my missus will kill me for sure.

Thanks guys , abs doesn't seen to be affected , neither in application or warning light.(just the traction control light which I read the vss can affect)
I'm surprised the vss would affect anything but the speedo , mind you suppose it is integral to the computer programming running in car diagnostics.
I want to see how many mpg I'm getting again in my trip computer!

I see mate thus you recommending it... Pretty much sure though it is due to the vss as it started lighting up after it went on motorway after I bought the car! Fancy the vss breaking after I just bought the car lol , typical!!
Cheers for the info though mate if it happens in the future and the vss is operating I know what to check!

A broken ABS ring or sensor will illuminate the traction control light (y)

I've never found that to be the case Paul..i've had several front and rear abs rings crack which caused the abs to kick in at low speed and even the abs light hasnt illuminated..never mind the traction control light.

This is from first hand experience with the girlfriends Cougar, she had a broken abs ring on the offside front which made her traction and ABS lights stay on permanent, replaced the ABS ring and both lights went off (y)
