Hey people...

I know its been a mightily long time since I've been on here, but things have just been so hectic at home this last year since getting engaged and getting married last year.

Well some of you may already know but Anna and I are expecting the patter of tiny feet in July!

As as some of you may have already guessed that means its time for a new car.

I've owned my Cougar for 7 years and its been a very long and rewarding experiance.

From joining the club almost 7 years ago I've seen many people come and go from the club and even though I've not been that active on the forums for a couple of years I still am in contact with a few people on here and over on SCC as well.

I wanted to thank the mods/admins who have always done a sterling job on here even when things have been tough.

When i think back 7 years ago to when I attended my first Uk Cougar meet i was a bunch of nerves and didnt know anyone. All the people there were so nice and welcoming - Sadly I dont think anyone from that meet is still on here!

Pics from the meet

Then just over a year later we had our first Cougarfest! What a blast that was!

So its all been a lot of fun and I'm really sad to see my Cougar go. When you've owned a car like ours for that amount of time it really becomes part of who you are.

I will still be about from time to time and hope you guys'n'gals who i have as friends on Facebook will keep in touch!

Thanks for the most emotional 7 years of my life!

Great news Alex congrats to you both I hope you stick your head in from time to time as I don't do face book.

JJ

A baby doesn't mean no Cougar!! We are expecting our first born any day and the Cougar is fine as a family car if you get the right kit. I've bought a dedicated baby seat for cars with bucket seats and it works champion. Still good luck in whatever you choose and all the best! :)

One door closes, another one opens. Best of luck to you Alex - and fare thee well, from a raw newbie.

ETA: I bought a Rover Coupe for my missus from a man in exactly your situation. Seven years later? That car is still running like a Scania. So if you have to get rid of the Cat, it'll be new roads for you, but your car might well see new roads herself. Godspeed.

Long time no hear Alex! Sad to hear about your cat but understandable. You certainly did some amazing work to it over the years - always were ready to try something new!

Enjoy your new transport - maybe you will have that for 7 years too! All the best to you and Anna. x

Used to enjoy baiting you with the I4 vs V6 arguement, it was always very easy and so much fun. Had some laughs at Cougarfests too, I liked your car before you had to take off the goodies, easily one of the best looking silver cougars of its time, of all time for that matter. Good luck with the baby and whatever new vehicle you decide on.

Richard.

Thanks for all the kind words people - Hopefully my cougar will end up with someone I know -if that pans out - who knows.

I am looking to buy a Honda Accord at the moment, want something saloony! :)

I had an Accord before buying my Cougar as a taxi for the lads. Reliable to the point of almost being boring but got to 124,000 on a T reg and it's still being driven locally.

I hope you're looking at an Accord type R.;););)
Don't forget to come to SCC meets, we don't care what you drive, as long as it's not French.:sick::sick::oops:

.... Sadly I dont think anyone from that meet is still on here!

Let's see if we can name the people there...

You
Me
Richard
Andy
Essex Matt
Freebird (?)

Might have missed one or two...cannot remember who had the Probe....

All the very best for the future Alex.

Well, all the best Alex, sorry to hear your Coug is going after 7 years of ownership, like Kully said, you can get a child seat in the back seat (as well as 2 large speakers, a sub that will blow your nuts off and a dog as well......secretly I'm not sure where Kully has put the child seat...possibly on the roof...but hey lets keep that one quiet! lol)

Best of luck to you and Anna. Hope your Coug goes to someone who will look after her!!
