Has anyone managed to get TIS to run on a Windows 7 64 bit machine?

Tried it the other night and it just wouldn't install as it said it's incompatible. Tried all the compatibility settings and everything but no joy.

In the end I installed it in a Virtual XP image I've got on the machine but that's a bit inconvenient.

(PS - wasn't sure which category to put this in, sorry if this isn't the right one!)

I had the same problem and used the same fix. I run Microcat in the same VM as it needs the date resetting back to 2008 so having a dedicated VM is good.
I must get round to making an iso image of TIS so I can mount that instead of the physical CD.

LOL - basically it's about Windows version 7, the 64 bit version. TIS won't install on it so you have to go for an older version of Windows (although never tried it on Windows 7 32 bit version). Windows 7 can run older versions of the operating system as a virtual machine, effectively as an application, so you need to get a virtual version of Windows XP running on your machine to use TIS. If you've got Windows 7 Professional or above that's really easy as it comes with "Windows XP Mode" support and you just have to set it up. With Windows 7 Home versions it's not quite so easy but it can still be done.

Does that help?

I use VMWare Workstation with an XP VM to run my OBDII software as it refuses to run on Win7 x64 (y)

And translated for Rik that means "I use the doodah with Windows to run my thingymajig as it won't work with the whatsitcalled"

Coat's on..........

Nah, lost the will to live after the second word

Does it make the car go faster or throw up random pictures of naked brunettes?
