To tint or not to tint...?

Will try Al, but my memory is probably worse than yours chap... Thanks for doing this mate.. :) also are you still up for arriving early to help with the door chap? :) and a few early beers before the others arrive...

Well the smoked repeaters arrived today, they are still not as tinted as i would have expected.. barely smoked.. i fitted them anyway and may still give them a tint with spray when i do the others..

This is how mine looked after two cans of tint spray and a can of lacquer. I didnt tint my own SR's but got some crystal smoked ones they look quite nice

p.s. have since tinted 3rd Brake, looks much better!

That's about the ticket Alex, I am thinking about doing a tint like that and then putting the rear light covers back on, also doing the rear 3rd brake light and i am going to have to go over the SR's i think as they are never tinted enough, and this is my 3rd pair..

You should only need a couple of quick coats of the savage spray Add. If we get chance it's a quick job/mod for castle combe (y)

Sounds good to me Al.. will have to do the rear lights at home though as i have to take the covers off and try not to crack the paint etc.. :)

Add, I'm thinking much the same with my rear lights, as thinking that it won't pass the next MOT with the lense covers fitted...unless I just stick relective stickers on for the MOT??? I do like the look of the tinted lenses and unlike you, I don't have a spare bog standard set (maybe I ought to pick some up....hmmmm???? ).

Surprised at the crappy side repeaters though - the ones I have are brilliant, although I did pay quite a lot for them...£19 for the pair if I remember correctly.

I think a spare set of lights is the way to go Tim, and if you do happen to get stopped as Rich says you can just change them over, As for the repeaters, one set was around a tenner and the other £15, so not cheapy nasty ones just poor quality.. I am thinking i may as well tint all the lights all round apart from the fronts..:D

Just a thought about the reflectors problem.
I don't know if there is a regulation about the size of reversing lights(Manos only has a thin strip of white leds in his US rear lights) but if we knew someone who was a dab hand at creating refective stickers to, perhaps, cover part of the white reversing light lens would it provide the answer?
The inner triangle below the red rear light lens looks a possibility.

I had thought about this Andy, But i think if i don't go too heavy with the tint then i should be fine, as long as you can see the lights thought the lens then it should not be a problem..
