TopCats Bikes Thread

I meant painting her green TC, I wouldn’t but she is yours so your colour choice.
She is a beauty and I don’t doubt a pleasure to ride, I’d love one if I had the room.

One of the design engineers who used to work at my place, legged it over to Triumph at Hinckley a while back, so i did the usual and pestered him for info on the new bus, and getting a 2nd key sorted.
He did a bit of rummaging for me and came up with these little gems......

Absolutely gobsmacked, as not only has it hardly been frightened or run in, but the previous owner only had it from july last year and did about 200 miles on it from last service!!! 😲 😲😲 also said he paid £7200 for it........... which i obviously didn't 😁😁😁😁👌 Happy days, no wonder the bloody oil was still clean lol

Well that's that, the Big Blue Dirty DRX has found itself a new home, which funnily enough turned out to be a septic at Lakenheath who works in the shop next to my mate :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: so he'll get to see it on a regular basis lol

On the other side of the garage I managed to knock up a pair of paddock stand bobbins and wire in a charge lead on the Thruxton, so all in all a succesful day (and all this while suffering from a head cold since yesterday) lol so heatings back on for a bit

Ooooh forgot about this lol soooooooooooooo

As Chris and Paul will verify after our get together today at Pauls
I've pretty much eliminated the dents in the tank, but will need tank access from inside just to finish off, as the creases were just a tad too much for the dent kit
I've also fitted and wired in the aux lights
Fitted a sump guard
Modified a rack from another model (£50 marketplace win)
Got a set of Triumph wax cotton/leather panniers inc fitting kit
Chucked a new set of tyres on it
Fitted some shorty levers
Changed the gearing from 16/42 to 17/37 and OMFG what a bloody difference!!! It's like riding a different bike! So lazy but SOOOOOOOOOO Torquey, the higher gearing really suits the engine characteristics so much better

oh yeah and the seat hump cover thingy which came in white, so i wrapped it in silver for now

Anyways, few pics........

As you can see, I now have the final piece of the Thruxton CZaR puzzle lol (Chris will laugh lol)
I managed to grab this seat (yet another MINT addition) which are a tad on the rare side, and i've only seen 3 others for sale since buying the bike! But it is the factory dual comfort seat which retail at stupid money, which is why i really wanted it transported via friends than courier..............Well chuffed!!

The panel on the left had rather a nasty wear through, where something had vibrated against it (possibly while being transported somewhere) so set about it with some wet n dry up to 2k grit before polishing with G3 compound and a couple of coats of Porboys Black Hole, proper nice job  👌

Also picked up this sump guard which was anodised, but tatty, so it got a good seeing to and a couple of coats of Rustoleum (look it up lol) rubberised paint, and altho i originally had an issue fitting it, thinking it was for another bike, i worked out I was missing a spacer and trying to locate it in the wrong position, but now it looks brill, and it's protecting the X pipe and bottom of the engine 👍🤘
