Interested in fitting a towbar to a v6 to tow my bike trailer....anyone done if so is it a long/difficult job?

It's pretty straight forward. Wiring is dead easy and the frame can be bolted up without removing the rear bumper. You have to be careful when locating the spacer sleeves in the chassis legs but that's it really. Cross member in, side plates up, sleeves in, tighten it all up, add a ball, plumb it all up and pour a cold one [emoji2]

Unless you need 13pin I'd fit BS style plugs as they're MOT exempt, whereas Euro type is testable.

I find towbars are all reasonably similar to fit, just be prepared for a superman style balancing act.

Go for a detatchable if funds and availability allow, all the ones I've fitted on my own cars have been detatchable and have been totally invisible when the hook is removed.

That reminds me, I need to order one for the Audi!

Cheers all, excuse my ignorance but is there any drilling into the chassis to do or do they use pre-existing fixing points?

What sort of money are you looking at procomm?

It's only as difficult as you allow it to be. Just like women, you gotta believe you're in control even though deep down you know you're not [emoji6][emoji106]

Holes are already in the chassis, so easy fit, depending on the year of your coug, you could fit one made by a previous member who was selling them through here, if not then make sure you get one that has 2 bolts to detach the hook arm, these are lots cheaper than detachable ones, and once the plug is fitted to the car it takes 2 mins to fit or detach.

Thanks for that top cat....how did you connect up the electrics and do you need anything special for the bulb out indicator to function correctly?
