Trip to Oxford to view possible FREE cougars

I've had the OK to store one of these, should the need arise.
It would be in one of our redundant farm buildings, under a roof and on a concrete floor.
If the intention was to strip it, it could be done in situ as long as it was a quick job.

Thanks Andy, that's good to know.

You did see what we did to that one of Wil Leaper's, right...?

The problem would then be storage of parts, though there's a handful that I would very much like to take out of your way...

This is where logistics really come in ie: the parts would need to be spread far and wide as i don't know of anyone who could store the whole lot. I'm definately at max capacity atm but do need to clear some stuff, not all of my own i might add.

Mmmm, wil leaper! Doesn't he own a little field? ;)

can we help?

You would be most welcome Anthony and it'd be good to see you there.

We'll have room for one here if needed (once my Wife's handbrake cable is sorted)
Only problem is we are miles away from the cars, and everyone else!

If one of them ended-up here I don't see there being any problem if it was stored whole or in bits.
We have a ready supply of cardboard boxes, pallets and a fork lift so if needs be I could shift stuff around from one shed to another.

Thanks Geoff and Andy (y)

Well, more info from Kevin. Seems the other cars at Pangbourne are really in a awkward place to view. Right beside a busy road at the river Thames edge .
Here are the photo's Kevin sent me today of the two cars outside, as yet he has no access to the garaged one.

...and here is a copy of the email he sent me.
======================================

Hello Alan,

I cannot really give you any further information on the previous registration details of T81 HTR, as the owners health is deteriorating rapidly, and his memory is going the same way.

All I can say is it has a body kit on it (front air scoop is damaged) but otherwise the body kit condition is good, also it is fitted with an after market air filter, and momo branded alloy wheels. Both cars have leather interior.

Seeing these other three cars in the flesh could be tricky, not because of any evasive reasons, but more to do with logistics, as they are parked next to an extremely busy road (parked on a verge between the road and the river Thames, google earth on Shooters hill, A329, Pangbourne and you will see what I mean, these cars are even visible next to the bus stop). Car parking is bad, and if you have a trailer on the back of your car, parking would not even be possible in my opinion. If you really want to see these cars I am not saying it is impossible just logistically difficult. From Ardington, it would be approx a 34 mile round trip.
Further more the third Ford Cougar is parked in the garage, with another car permanently parked across the garage at present, and consequently I have not yet got access to this car myself.

I attach some pictures of the other two Ford Cougar cars, and can get some more if you need them.

Please forward me some phone contact details of the persons coming to collect these cars, I in turn can be contacted on 07766 517825.

What sort of time would you anticipate arriving at Ardington, on Saturday morning?

All the best for now,

Kevin.

From looking at Google earth, safe parking is possible maybe half a mile from these in Pangbourne so i'll leave it up to you individually wheather you want to go and see them or not. I found these images by searching "Shooters Hill,Pangbourne". This takes you down to the thames riverside.

Go to street level or fly down to the placemark and there they are.
Reading Kevins email, i think he may be assuming we are taking cars away this weekend so i will re-state our position that we are only coming to view in advance of ? we'll see won't we? :D

Views and/or opinions welcome.

Im up for whatever if we have a trailer. Parking isnt really an issue for me, being a van driver I just stick the hazards on and :stop: to it :)
If its easier and we do want to go im happy for people to jump in with me in the Mongy.

post edited: now then Matt behave.

Only just spotted this.............whats going where? Not sure if it's still available to me but my old boss has a trailer, however, timings and logistics with getting a tow vehicle may be an issue, also my place is rammed!!! oh and fuel would need to be funded somehow lol guess i'll be breaking mine for storing parts at this rate lol

I don't think we have a firm plan yet, Tony. We're just going over there to see what's viable and maybe removing an entire vehicle or two.

I'm waiting for the timings to get firmed up, but with the current veiw from 50,000ft... I think you could come over here in Shed and T will drive us all over in her car to save fuel.

Let's see who commits - and to what time - and take it from there?

Thanks for the possible trailer offer Tony. (y) At least now we have a possibility of two trailers, and a tow vehicle offer from Ricky and from Norman for which fuel will need to be provided of course.
Yes, I will be leaving Robin Hood Country at about 06.30 to arrive at the bungalow by about 09.00 as will Matt.
I'm going to ring Kevin in the morning to let him know our plans and hopefully have him around with a handfull of keys so we can also get a look at those in Pangbourne if time allows. It'd be a shame not to.
I'm guessing Matt and myself should have some under/overgrowth cleared by the time you arrive Chris, and Anthony if he can make it and anybody else? (y)
Anybody got some gaitors? ;)
BTW, has everybody got my number?

Not fussed about going to look as i dont need anything, but if a vehicle or two need moving, gimme a shout and i'll see what i can do, got too much on here to kill a day, sorry

That's entirely understandable mate.

We're going over anyway so what I should've said is that you're welcome to come with us if you want to. Tracey and I always love seeing you, but nobody's going to be a bitch if you can't make it.
