You're less likely to have a frontal impact if you're driving like there's a dagger protruding from the steering wheel.
I assume the Herald's B-pillar is deemed insufficiently stiff to mount a shoulder belt leaving the chosen option of lap-belts.
The owners' club would know if an engineering solution to fitting three-point belts were available if desired, though I suspect most prefer to keep original.

Hello

Thanks for all the information on getting the Cougar accepted for low emissions zones. I have managed to get that sorted over past few days.
The vehicle was coming up as not allowed in the Scottish low emissions zone, and charged in England and London.
However, I noticed that my 2003 Toyota Celica was permitted without any issues or charges.
I had a look at both V5s the one for the Celica had all the emissions information shown, which incidentally were higher than the 2.5 Cougar! On the Cougar V5 none were shown.
I have now had a message back from DVLA / CAZ to say they will add my emissions information to the V5 and update the system, I will also get a new V5. That will then update the information for TFL and Scotland.

Good result all round!

I'm going to have to try this again, I still don't understand why they declined mine even after escalation but are fine with everyone elses cougar!
