Well I finally gave this a go. It was alot easier than I thought it would be, but the HAVC unit is quite tricky and took me some time to get it done. Here is my progress so far with what I have managed to do................

Now I know this will not be to everyone's taste and I understand this fully. But it is miles better than the drab grey that is in there.
My next goal is dashboard top around clocks and centre console. After that it will be A, B, C pillars.
My aim is to do all these by the end of this week.

Nice work Peter. The colour scheme is not to my taste but the quality of your efforts looks good.

One thing that does impress me is how you've trimmed, carpeted and painted so many orange parts with different materials and they all appear to match.
Did you have much trouble sourcing the materials or have you just been lucky?

Shame you're not coming to Ford Fair. I'm sure your cat will get plenty of attention (plus I'd like to see it in the flesh).
It's not too late, Matt has spare car passes, you just have to buy your own entrance ticket.

Thanks for the comments. The colours I have managed to get all seem to be a standard Orange colour and I have been very lucky with them all TBH. As I have said before, I am a Chef by trade but there is not much I will not have a go at. You just need to think about what you are tackling and give it a go.

I know full well my car is not to everyone's taste but I have tried my very best to do everything to a high standard. You are right about attention though, whenever I have taken it to either club meets or local meets it does seem to grab all the looks off people. I have put a lot of money and time into this car and I do feel it shows now.

I can not do Ford Fair I am afraid, I just can not do it with my kids to think about and money to get up there and spend, but I am doing Blackpool though so I should see quite a few members up there with anyluck, but thank you for the heads up though.

Well tonight was a massive fail with the dashboard top. It seems that it is to smooth for the vinyl to take to it. So I need to rough it up a bit first. Managed to wrap the inner piece where the clocks sit though. So I will plod along with other bits from the car tonight and see how I get on.
A bit gueed as I managed to waste at least a meter on the dashboard top, but I learned something tonight...............

Sorry to hear of the set-back Peter especially after your success with the other parts.
Have you contemplated the reflection you would get in the windscreen from doing the dash-top though?

I have learned something today so all good. The vinyl is not that reflective so I do not think it would be an issue. I get more glare from my chrome wiper blades TBH.

the vinyl should take whether it,s smooth or not , it's designed to go on all surfaces , like i said on fb , 3m do an adhesion promoter which would help , would also make sure it's absolutely clean , lot of dashes tend to have silicone cleaners sprayed on them ! if it's a panel you won't use again then keying it up will help , stick with it cos it looks like you're doing a cracking job (y)

sent from the mobile thingy !!

Thanks for the advice. Yes it is a panel I will not be using again as I bought spares of all of them just incase I messed it up. It did not matter what I done, it just would not stick. I think I will get this " adhesion promoter " because JJ highlighted the fact it could lift off under high temperatures and it is going to be in direct sunlight when the car is out of my garage.
I will stick with it as I do not let things beat me that easy and I thought I had done all the tricky parts. I think this will be a massive challenge though but I think I can do it.
