Vinyl wrapping.

Whilst you've got it all in bits, might I suggest sticking some form of foam or Dynamat etc between the top of the inner section that houses the clocks and the underside of the top panel (ie the big one that you're currently having niggles with)? It's easily the worst part of the interior in terms of build quality, rap your knuckles on the top of the one in your car next time you get in and you'll see what I mean. I reckon sticking some sort of padding in there might 'deaden' the flimsiness a little.

Good call that one. I have wrapped that part already to go back into the dashtop, so I will pad it out if I can find something lying around my garage.
I have ordered the adhesion promoter now so it should be with me next week. This has slowed me down a bit now but I will get there in the end.
I might move onto the A, B, C pillars now instead and give them a go this weekend.

I've just reviewed this thread and realised i hadn't posted o_O.
Just when you start to think the moddings done eh Peter. This car is a prime example to all who say "well i might just change the fried eggs, but that's all".
Perseverence and results, that's what i like about you and this car, well done that man (y)

Cheers for the comments Alan, it is in part your fault for helping me out when I very first stumbled across this site. If it was not for you I would not have ever joined up.

You are right about the modding, since I have " learned " to do this kind of mod, I am now searching the car for anything else I can wrap and change. It is just crazy the effect this stuff has, for little money and a little bit of time and care ( and swearing lol )

I think I can safely say I have the crazyest Cougar in this club for sure. Nothing is normal about it at all................... But I do love it just the way it is.

That's gonna be one really bright interior when you're finished Peter.
I hope you've got some decent shades to wear, and I'm not talking about for when it's sunny.

Top work Peter, as ever, quite like the orange and it fits you car perfectly

Look forward to seeing it again at Blackpool

Cheers guys. Well I am not sure if I can do anymore today. I have pulled my neck somehow and it hurts like hell. I do not know if it is to do with me doing all this wrapping as I have been hunched over my dinning room table for quite a few hours doing it. So I might need to give it a rest today.

As for Blackpool, I am just waiting on my works to give me the Monday off work so I can make it for Friday to Monday. Then I will book it all up. Going to make a weekend of this and take in the sights without the kids for a change.

Well I decided to ignore my neck and cracked on with a bit more. I think this is my finest hour.

I am very pleased with the way it came out. I was worried most about this part of the car the most due to what I wanted to do with it. I think I have pulled it off as I did not want to wrap the whole thing because I wanted to carry the colour from the HAVC unit down onto the centre console.

So now I wait for the stuff I have ordered to do the dash top. I think this is going to be the one piece that might give me real trouble but I will try my best.

Lookin good tangerine def go down well in Blackpool (y)

Cheers........... yes I agree with that. Your football team done you proud in the prem and played some great flowing football and you should be proud of them. I am sure they will be back up there not to soon in the future.

Looks a very well done job Peter, I have to say I know it's personal preference but I think the black hood over speedo etc makes it look better than I think it will if you do that orange as it makes the orange pop more with that being black. Obviously it's a personal decision much like most things I did with the last and current car but that's my thoughts on it :)

Thank for the comment JJ. You have raised a very good point and opened up a can of worms in my head now. The part you are on about I have already wrapped it ready, but I think what you are saying is correct. The Black on Orange will look great, I can try them both seen as I have the one on the car still.
My challenge is this dashboard top, I know it is not going to be easy to do. Everything else up till now has been quite straight forward, but this part is very complex. I did think about just leaving it as it is and fit the wrapped inner part + the vent rings ( done in Black ) but I feel it will look incomplete compaired to the rest of what I have done.
I can not do anything until the stuff comes that I have ordered so I will crack on with other bits until it arrives next week.

I'm sorry about not liking orange but the quality of your interior is mint.. I wish I had your motivation!

Ah now I think we are crossed wires I would do the bit you have done immediately round binnacle orange but I think the main dash top/hood I would leave black as it is now as it makes a nice contrast IMO.

Thank you and I agree fully. It is not to everyones taste and I get that, but I have worked hard on it to make it look the way it does. Much better than the " grey "

Well JJ, I was thinking the same thing as you. Here are some pics of what it now looks like.......

I am happy with this look but I think the vent rings will change to Orange as the black looks lost against the Black Dash.

Yep (y) I like it like that tbh just do the vent rings and I'd leave it like that, you have the inner hood and vent rings then to tie it in and the dash top to really make it pop.
