Were these optional from Factory?

I have these little tyre valve caps on my Eibach cougar with the ST200 alloys, didn't really notice them until now. Although they really stand out now I've seen them. I tried searching around for them online but have come up short. Were these available on the UK Cougars or would these just be something the previous owner has put on himself?

Sorry for the horrible photos o_O I blame my horrible phone camera

Cheers!

After market over here, there used to be loads for sale n ebay back in 2010

Just a word to the wise, they're often made out of monkey metal and corrode like Lord knows what, and permanently attach themselves to the valves. Are they easily removed? To be honest they look half decent (from the outside at least) but worth keeping an eye on.

Cheers, I haven't had any problems yet but will keep that in mind! I was considering swapping them out anyway in fear of someone pinching them lol

A smear of copper-slip, or similar, on the threads helps to prevent them seizing on.

Mine are the same but with Ford logo (source Amazon) and I only put them on for shows; I had Poundland red metal caps on my Daewoo (don't ask) and 2 on one side went, obviously someone not old enough to be in charge of four wheels!

Exactly what i have on DG. I've had a couple of sets for some years now. Well, it's a set and half since two little toerogs nicked two a couple of years ago. Iirc mine were bought from USA via ebay.

I posted here a few years ago about having custom caps. Can't find that post now, but... long story short-ish?

Some little weasels on T's sister's estate (Coffee Hall) stole mine to put them on their bikes. When a lovely little kid (maybe 8 years old) told me what they'd done - "Mister, they've been messing with your car!" - they threw them away into a hedge, never to be seen again.

What a waste.

Anyway, he told me who had done it and where they lived, so I went to their house and complained that I didn't think they'd raised scum and maybe they could resolve this by making them better children?

Apparently I was wrong because the father dragged them out back and beat the hell out of them. Oh well.

I gave that little snitch cash money, because even though I don't want to encourage grasses, I want to encourage respect of property. Today he's in his mid-20s and a great guy. The thieves are mechanics or in prison.

Case closed.

I love stories of the MK massive, its like a guilty pleasure whenever I go there:LOL:

Last lot I had nicked were off the old Cougar as my driveway was open to the street, so I ended up getting a set you need a little grub screw to remove. The last two Ford ones I had spare went on a bike I think.
