What are these wires for ?

The wire I'm holding and the wire at the top beside the coolant resovoir. Fog lights ?

The top one is for the coolant level sensor fitted in the header tank of the V6.

The one you are holding looks like the plug for the bonnet alarm button.

So I should just leave them alone ? I always wondered what they were for

You should have a bonnet alarm button sticking upwards out of the front slam panel about where your wrist is in that photo.

Thanks, I'll have a look tomorrow , the car doesn't even have an alarm.
