Not as dramatic as I made out. I'll probably add a photo to Rana's thread when I can bear to.
After a horrific day being everyone's punch bag, I was stopped at the end of the minor road read to turn left (toward the camera as per photo) and I had to stay tight to the corner to avoid traffic in the oncoming side of the road. I was too tight and the boulder that overhangs the corner caught my skirt.
The silver lining is that the panel had been patched up by the previous owner, and doing this damage revealed rust (as the weakened metal cracked open). This is a chance to nip that in the bud and stop it from spreading. The wheel only has a scuff, and no tyre or damage to the axle or frame. The massive dent starts just after the door, so I got away with that. Gutted that it happened, and wish I didn't try the maneuver as hastily as I did. Problem is, if I don't do the turn quickly and get going, I'm at risk of cars flying around the bend and into the back of me (I've pulled out and had people immediately overtake me [yes, it was clear when I commited]).
Nevertheless, I swore. A lot. I'll be going to have words with the landlord and ask him to shove the boulder up his ass so it's not in the way.
