I'll bare that in mind , once I'm all sorted and got the next few months out the way I'll be up for a meet with in an acceptable distance , just the next few months wages are taken up by new beds clothes few debts and then wheels(can't wait for that , sulky missus for two months)
Cheers matt.

Did I say few months? More like five or six....

Fitted a short shifter today, only took 20 mins bit strange to drive at first but a lot more positive gear change, think I will acquire a couple of bolts from work tomorrow for the ones ford missed out

It is quicker but it feels to go into gear more easy a lot tighter feel I would recommend changing to a short shift, dead easy to do and only £30 you can also get rid of the reverse lift at the same time if you wanted to

The short shifter does feel like you've got a new gearbox, but beware; it is very unforgiving and you have less room for error. One of my two has one and I'm not sure that the shift is any faster than standard - it's just more positive.

No wobble does feel like a new gearbox

It's easy to just two bolts, four if you or ford have fitted the other two, a circlip to come off on the side to remove one off the gear linkage the bottom gear linkage popped that off with a flat screwdriver remove the old gear lever swap the parts covering the ball on the lever then fit in reverse finished of by putting roll pin in for the lift reverse that's about it

Moved my CD changer to the glove box. Been meaning to do this for a while.
