What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

What did I do today, hmm. I fixed a vent, secured my dash top and sealed the last rim.

Then took the wheels off Jaffa and cleaned them up all shiny like. I also fixed Jaffa's nearside wind noise, finally.

Someone say something about show season? :D

Oh, I also packed my house ready to move on Tuesday!
 
Well hopefully after routing cable and sorting out the tweeter in the passenger door I can crack on with the same in the drivers door today (although we are going out again) picked up a load of cable from my parents house from the install in the cougar, and got some terminals from Halfords (once I'd found the right ones, so expensive too) so just need to play about with fitting woofers in doors of fiesta as they fowl the windows at the moment as they are too deep, but got some MDF so will make some spacers.... Getting some bass in the Pimp Wagon haha,

I just got some cheap crossovers in the back but now need a headunit as the one I have is rubbish. Summer time cruising with tunes blasting
 
well i tightened up 3 wheel nuts that had come lose on my passenger side wheel :( little poo come out when i found them lose.herd a ticking noise when i hit the brakes so had a look at passenger side again to find a shed load of grease everywhere cv boot gone :( booked in for thursday morning to get sorted

Having a decent head unit and/or speakers makes all the difference in a decent sound system, likewise if you boost the speaker quality then don't fit them in the back because after all you sit in the front and ideally you want it to sound like the music is coming out of the centre of the dash when you close your eye's.
For head units look at the signal to noise ratio in db this needs to be above 100 if possible. For speakers look at the efficiency i.e. How loud it is at a specefic distance from the speakers front edge usually measured in db @ 1w/1m look for something in the high 80's or 90's .
Oh yeah and buy the speakers on the RMS power handling not the max/peek power as this is what the speakers will happily play all day without any problems.
So ends the lesson for today ;)

Well anyway washed the fiesta and Emma's Punto, will sort some squeaks and rattles on her car later and clean the inside of the glass then it's get cracking on "fester" as he's being relegated orf the drive in favour of the KUGA tomorrow
 
Thanks Matt that's good info.
I used to spend loads of money on car steros, but because I always took my cars somewhere to get them fitted I was at the mercy of the retailer - I didn't really know what I was talking about:rolleyes:
