What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

There are indeed lumps. I've positioned the clips actually on them, so the lump sits in the gap in the clip, if that makes any sense?

I understand what you're saying, (and I'm not surprised that Mart built them right because he's a great engineer). The clip should be completely upstream of the lump though, mate. That way, if it starts to disintegrate, you have no risk of it going wrong.

Move the entire clip behind the lump, is what I'm saying.

Today I changed my power steering cooler for a Catfabs stainless item, using Al's excellent how-to for guidance.

This will probably seem a very modest achievement to many of the more mechanically talented folks on here, but I really am proper chuffed with my little self at having done it.

Well done Rich. Any unfamiliar task/job is always going to be a challenge, but that's all it is. I know people grump and winge about the oem ford spring hose clips, but providing they are in good condition, they are perfectly servicable for many years. SS does have to be the replacement type Terry/Jubilee/screw type clips though.

Rich likes to play down his ability, but he knows what he's doing. Following a logical procedure and getting it cross-checked is how we learn. Remember the first time you did your brakes?

Me? Not really mate, iirc the first ones would have been wooden blocks on rims.

Rich has very little confidence in his own abilities and wholly prefers to work in proximity of someone who knows their onions!

Reminds me, isn't it National rabbits awareness week? ;)

But you're not scared to do the job if you have someone to cross-check you, online or otherwise. That makes you a great person to work with.

I don't want to sound condescending; I want to help build confidence in talented people.

Cougars on stock rims always look silly low. It's an illusion mainly. There's pics of many cars on regular lowering springs that look really low because of the stock wheels. Especially when they're painted black and the car has skirts, it makes the wheels appear smaller and the body deeper. On a set of 18's or 19's that'd look awesome.
