What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Removed, cleaned and refitted IAC valve (with new gasket) - fiddly little job when you've got chubby hands like me :)

The moose is silenced - for now

Nice one. As you say, the fix won't be permanent, but you can stave it off for longer by blowing through the rubber hose with carb cleaner as well.

Cleaned under my sills and found bits o'rust :( so I scratchbrushed and jenolited. Hope to start to cover it up tomorrow with some primer, before I clear lacquer and wax over it.
Not a long term fix I know but hope to slow down the progress a bit.
Gave it a good wash on Sunday and black waxed last night so it looks pretty good right now. Took some photos which I'll post soon.
I do need to polish the headlights though . . .

Lift the long plastic trims that cover the edge of the carpet/door seals. This will reveal holes that go straight into the sills.

Get an injectible sealer (something with a narrow, flexible wand) and go to town in there.

Excellent news. Have fun!

Decided to get down an dirty on what has probably been the hottest day of the year and that sun was at the back of my head all day.
Had DG lifted on passenger side to do some maintainence and a general check all round. All good under there so i got the old black caliper paint out and cleaned some crap off before splashing the subframe and tidying up the Eibachs and hub carriers. (y)

Fitted US style grill, had a go at using the 3m head light referb kit but 30 year old black and decker kept slipiing into hammer mode so took 4 hours to do one and still has a few marks on it so new drill and new kit for another try.2007_0102haynes-motor-muss0194.jpg
