What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Seeing what Andy is doing, prompts me to say that I absolutely love to see the way that these cars are evolving to suit their owners.

It also makes me sad that we've lost Chris (Warthog) because his talent and underlying knowledge of the car's electricals was a gift that we're missing.

Excellent post . We miss him, but remember Chris's enthusiasm for the car and for this club. It's still here.

Well today I did a 250-ish mile trip to pick up a set of C2 doorcards and other accessories courtesy of Lunaticrik. In the Golf. See, it wasn't really a club meet as such and all the fuel for the Golf is paid for, so it was an easy decision.

T's coupe needs a new rear brake line and although it passed the MOT as an advisory, I don't want her driving it until it's replaced. MOT guy thinks it's safe for the moment but when we have four cars for now, why take the risk?

In short, what I did to my Cougar today was lend her to the missus. They are somewhere in S. Milton Keynes at the moment.

Glad you made it back ok

I was nursing an hangover so apologies if I wasn't the most sociable person lol. I realised after you went I didn't even offer you a drink (thanks to a stern telling off from mother lol)

LOL - no problem. Your mum and your kitties were wonderful so don't worry about a thing! I would've declined a drink because of the diabetes (and peeing like a maniac) but would've spent hours with your cats!

Today I fitted some new HT leads.
Not just any HT leads, but genuine and brand new, ultra rare FORD RACING HT leads.
Thanks to Andy 'Quicksilver' for spotting them on ebay.

They're quite a bit fatter than the Magnecores I had so I couldn't fit the covers on the cable guides.
Apparently these are 9mm leads.
Some cable ties have tidied things up a bit though.

I'll have to try and find one of those stainless steel covers for this.

It was getting dark when I finally tidied everything up so sorry for the glare from the flash.

Some info for Chris Mako - I only took it for a short test drive to warm it up but these leads appear to have smoothed out my car's idle which was a little wobbly with the old Magnecores. The idle still fluctuates slightly but it does it really smoothly now.

Otherwise, throughout the rev range, it drives superbly, as it always has done. :)

I also lubed the locks and hinges.

That's interesting... How come are you doing that?

Just noticed the oil filler cap. Over here the spec is 5W-30. Wonder why the difference? Something to do with the weather in your part of the world I wonder?
