What is this knob?

definitely looks aftermarket to me mate, even the mk2 special edition and limited edition models which both came with different gear knobs as extra's look different to that
unless the picture is bad and the shaft is actually longer than it looks in which case it is the st24 alternative from the options list and comes with a handbrake cover to match, about £30 from ford parts direct
